Entry requirements
To be eligible for admission to the programme a candidate shall
(a) comply with the regulations for the degree of Master of Social Sciences;
(b) hold a Bachelor's degree with honours in Psychology or a recognized equivalent qualification; and
(c) preferably have relevant working experience in educational or related settings.
If necessary, a candidate may be required to pass a qualifying examination prior to admission.
The closing date of application is February 17, 2010. Only full-time programme will be offered.

may be obtained in person at the Academic Services Enquiry
Office, Room UG-05, Upper Ground Floor, Knowles Building,
The University of Hong Kong or by written request to
the same office in early 2008. Postal requests should
include a self-addressed stamped (HK$16.40) envelope
measuring 31cm x 23cm (A4 size).
Application forms
available around December 2009.
A personal statement of intent should be sent in with
the application form. The statement is about 1000 words,
covering the following areas:
a description of your personal and family background
considered relevant to your application;
a description of what you think constitutes the nature
of educational psychology and the work of educational
psychologists in Hong Kong;
a discussion of the reasons why you wish to take up
educational psychology as a career;
a brief description of how you envisage your academic
and personal life over the next two years, if you were
admitted into the programme;
a brief description of how you intend to finance your
studies, including an estimation of the total cost.
Each applicant is also required to request
two academic
referees to write a confidential report and forward
the report direct in a sealed envelope to the Director,
Educational Psychology Programme, Department of Psychology,
The University of Hong Kong, Pokfulam Road, Hong Kong.
It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that
the referees' reports reach the University no later
than two weeks after the closing date of applications.
