Introduction

The HKU Task Force on Infectious Diseases was originally the Task Force on SARS set up in 2003 to deal with all SARS-related issues. In June 2009, after the WHO declaration of the Novel H1N1 Influenza Pandemic, the Task Force was renamed as HKU Task Force on Pandemic Flu.

The Task Force has now taken up the role to monitor the spread of any infectious diseases in the University community and aims to contain the impact of these by providing the University community with timely and accurate health education and information. It also helps to co-ordinate measures taken by the University with measures implemented by the Government to manage any situation.

This website provides up-to-date information on the Avian Influenza, Influenza A (H1N1) 2009 / Human Swine Influenza, Seasonal Influenza and Pandemic Influenza. It encompasses tips on prevention, guidelines for setting up contingency plans, and University announcements.
