Reporting of Infectious Disease
Dear Heads of Departments, Wardens of Halls, Centres and Units,
As many Departments are organizing activities all year round, please be reminded to alert for any sporadic occurrence of infectious disease among your group.
- Please monitor the sick leave record of your staff / participants.
- Watch out for occurrence of a cluster* of illness.
- Inform UHS by telephone at 2859 2514 or email uhealth@hku.hk when the following situation arises:
- A cluster of staff / students in the same area develops similar symptoms concurrently OR within a short period of time.
- There is a confirmed notifiable communicable disease, as informed by the Centre for Health Protection or a local hospital in Hong Kong.
*A “cluster of illness” means 3 or more persons in the same area developing similar symptoms within a short period of time.
