Read what pervious LLIC participants had to say about the program:

Lenovo, Shanghai
"One aspect of the program that I really enjoyed was the fact that all the interns lived together in the same hotel, despite being placed in different companies. Despite having a 1.5 hr commute each way to my placement, the long commute created an opportunity for me and the other interns placed in my company to bond. Living in the same hotel also allowed us to develop a sense of community, explore Shanghai together, and learn from all the perspectives brought together. I still keep in touch with many of the other interns in the program. Spending a summer working for the largest computer manufacturing company in China made me realize that despite taking on the western dogma of quick globalization and quick power, its corporate culture and business mentality has still stayed distinctly Chinese"

"[LLIC is] a great program. It was a truly a great learning experience [and] my internship was fantastic! I learned a great deal about transfer pricing and was able to get involved in a lot of projects"

Asia as the Global Future Course
"The program helped me gain insight into the latest developments in Shanghai and first-hand experience of investment banking/business consultancy."

-- The University of Hong Kong Participant, Internship Placement: EJ McKay, Shanghai

"I think the program was overall successful. The first 2-weeks [of Asia as a Global Future] were very valuable and interesting; I enjoyed learning about both current and historical topics on Asia. I also had a great experience with my internship. AmCham was the perfect way to be introduced to Hong Kong (and general Asian) business climate."

-- MIT Participant, Internship Placement: American Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong

Travelling around China
"The main reason I applied and eventually joined this program was to see for myself how living and working in Greater China is like. I was seriously considering Greater China as a potential work location after graduation and the LLIC program confirmed it. I will be applying again for an internship in Greater China next summer. One good thing about this program is that you actually get to travel a lot over the weekend. Almost all cities and towns are linked to Shanghai by a very efficient transportation system and traveling is considerably cheap within China. Get yourself out of Shanghai and see China for yourself! Whether you are into historical places, cultural experience or scenic locations, China has something to offer you."

-- MIT Participant, Internship Placement: PopCap Games, Shanghai

"Working at the internship placement exposed me to the Chinese business style which was a very valuable aspect of my experience. I learned mostly about RFID technology and did a lot of market research which was interesting."

-- Stanford University Participant, Internship Placement: ETI Consulting, Hong Kong

"After this summer, I have decided I would definitely enjoy living in China for a few years. I also believe I received an interesting perspective on Chinese culture, one I would not have been able to learn back in America."

-- Princeton University Participant, Internship Placement: Lenovo, Shanghai
