IHP offers different programmes for people striving to reach their peak sports performance potential. The programmes/services that we are now offering include:

Sport & Performance: Training and Testing

We also provide services for recreational and elite sports people to assist them in maximising their sporting potential by eliminating the guess work in their training. Our specialised scientific performance coaching team can also provide quality systematic testing and training services such as VO2max, lactate testing, motion analysis, and other sport-specific testing to help teams and individuals optimise their training programmes.

  • Lactate (Anaerobic capacity) Testing

    As exercise moves from a more aerobic to anaerobic state the increase in blood lactate concentration can be measure and used to determine training intensity, status, or progress. Blood sampling at a number of steps of increasing intensity is used to identify the most accurate point at which individuals begin to shift from aerobic to a higher percentage of anaerobic metabolism.

  • VO2max (Aerobic Capacity) Testing

    The maximum aerobic capacity that an individual can achieve is one of the most important physiological parameters that can be measured. Those with a higher VO2max, or greater ability to utilize and consume oxygen are generally able to maintain higher intensities of exercise for longer durations.

  • Anthropometry (Body Composition)

    Determining body composition is useful information to assist with monitoring of training goals. Often height and weight is not specific enough to determine how the body weight is distributed throughout the body. Body composition measurements typically include skinfolds, girths, breadths, height and body mass.
