Inauguration Ceremonies

Newly established Endowed Professorships are officially presented and inaugurated at Endowed Professorships Inauguration Ceremonies.

The First Inauguration Ceremony was held in 2005 in Loke Yew Hall. It was the first large-scale stewardship event that honored the brave pioneers and faithful supporters who firmly believed in the Endowed Professorships Scheme and the University.

The popularity of the Inauguration Ceremony over the years has made it an integral part of the Scheme and it continues to enrich life in the academe and the society in the following ways:

To present an occasion for new donors of Endowed Professorships to be publicly honored and acknowledged.

To serve as part of the stewardship program for new and existing donors whereby donors and professors meet and exchange ideas.

To offer an opportunity to raise awareness of the general public, invite new initiatives and provide the impetus for the furtherance of the Scheme.
